When the sun turns flashing
its last gold smile
when the leaves it burned
mourn their browning drop
when the trees who have lost all
cloak stand before night bowed
when the proud peach lies a
bitter batter of sour sight
when the jay bird pulls its blue coat tight
that’s when you know its winter without your love
