Mind Your Business – Author Donna J. Sanders

Mind your business you say

cackling like a hen
exerting your voice for all to hear
cubicle walls are like a sieve
but when the boss demands focus
knowing work is lax
realizing an aborted paycheck
can’t provide your baby with nourishment
saving your job everyday

Mind your business you say

and still
fingerprints all over your phone
taking selfies
social networking
scouring the web for shades of weave
salivating over shoes you can’t afford
checking your bank account
to see if you can afford a night on the town
I’m a single mama
I got bills to pay

Mind your business you say
