Hope – Author Adam Levon Brown

I grow weary….
weary of treading the murky waters
of this deluded river known as modern life
Racism, sexism, and just pure hatred
flood the veins of society
running deep, and being pumped
by the heart of the media
We must purge the system
of all impurities and lay waste
to the ideals of hatred and bigotry
I yearn for days when every person
can walk out of their front door feeling
safe and open
not only safe and open but with
a gleam of hope in their heart and eye.

I have hope. . .
I have hope and faith
that one day we will all see this collective reality
and that we will experience a great era of healing
and of peace.

But this idea… It starts with you and I.
Don’t look to MLK Jr,
Don’t look to Gandhi…
We must learn from past yes,
but we must also be in the present
and look to the future if we are to achieve anything

The time is now…. Are you ready?
