Mud Cookies – Author Donna J. Sanders

Even the poorest
are drenched in riches
thirsts are quenched
stomachs filled with synthetic cuisine
garments to cover sins
while children
in subfuscous lands
find joy in stained rivers
tattered shoes
and mud cookies
never knowing
in their lifetime
the meaning of privilege
they are often happier
than the richest of men
