I Cry Alone at Night – Author Billy Charles Root

I do so many things wrong

I just want to get this right

So I hold my head up by day

and cry alone at night

I want to be good I really do

The harder I try The more I fail

Why must I be so frail

But I hold my head up by day

And cry alone at night

The thoughts I have can’t possibly be mine

Sometimes I wish my mind was blind

But I just tell all who ask I’m fine

The things I do I don’t want to

And the things I do I don’t

I tell myself I’ll do better next time

But when next time comes I won’t

But I hold my head up by day

And cry alone at night
