Cloud Stories – Veronica Thornton

So many thoughts and feelings to put into words

some softly spoken others never before heard

whispers in the wind voices of past loved ones,

family and friends those that said

they’d always be with you even if their time ends

the sun kissed you on the cheeks

while the clouds swept you off your feet

except you’re on the ground

watching the pictures form a line

with no concept of time the day gets away

while you watch the clouds make pictures and play

oh the stories they tell laughter, love, pain

things that make tears swell

Aww that deep breath of fresh air

and just for that moment you haven’t one care

inhaling the essence of tranquility

exhaling all the negativity

looking up at the earth immersed in the universe

listening to the whispering sounds

and feeling loving spirits all around

suddenly those thoughts and feelings turn into words

causing you to speak from the heart

what you’ve never before heard.
