In This Catching – C. Steven Blue

In This Catching

You look to me . . .

like somebody throwing up roses

a prescient and perceptive

human being

you look to me . . .

like someone who doesn’t do poses

a peachy-skinned presence

of fascination

I catch your

alluring demeanor

the glow of your wondering gaze

your fetching, yet spare

inclination to sing

It shines through my wallowing haze

I wonder what brings you

to center

to spring up and be

at this moment we’re in

I hope in this catching

you’ll let me slip up to

the magic that swallows your sin
