Internal Combustion

Small and silver key

To the man within the man

And he holds it by the ring

Feeling the power and freedom

For which it stands

Thumb and fore finger guide

Silver key to awaiting tumblers

And the twisting of magic alloys

Awakens manliness from slumber

Blazing amperage flashes

Down a dark cable road

Piercing where long awaiting found

Electromotive forces do abode

Tooth to tooth in twisting anger

A monster begins to wake

A ton of steel appeals in clangor

As exhale does escape

Petrol shot, lightning strike

Cylinder one catches fire

Chain reaction in the other seven

Caress man’s desire

Rumbling and thumping

Shaking of the ground

A thousand stallions hoofs beating

Causes a heart to pound

The monster calls down thunder

From almighty God above

Manly man struck with wonder

Thinks he just fell in love

Right foot throttle

Left foot brake

Five point harness on good and snug

Mean grip steering

Swerving and veering

Tires break loose from street

Smoke ascending

Never ending

Peeling off a layer of meat

Stick shift slamming

Possi track jamming

A set of elevens as far as the eye can see

Wide open throttle

Empty NOS bottle

Man’s head is glued to the seat

There’s a cop

Pull over stop

Monster gets towed away

But man what a ride

As the man almost cried

When he saw how much he has to pay.
