I am from… – Love Revealed

I am from a general vicinity

But no place I could ever call home

For I belonged to a mother

Who let her heart roam

I am from a father

To whom I didn’t exist

Who doesn’t understand what’s wrong with me

And why I can’t be fixed

I am from a bedroom

Where the dresser guarded the door

Praying for dear life

That he’d pass out on the floor

I am from an older brother

Who took on the mighty role

Of being the stable parental figure

For a messed up little girl

I am from a young adult hood

Where I tried so hard to be loved

And made too many mistakes

Ended up being called Mom

I am from a marriage 10 years in the making

Thought I had found the one

Only to find my heart breaking

I am from two daughters

Who have faith in me

They see I’m trying to get it together

So they don’t end up like me

I am from my past

But my past doesn’t control me

I write to bleed my heart

Poetry sets me free…

My name is Tara and I am the mother of two young, beautiful girls. I live in a small town in southern Ohio. I am 36 years old and currently working on rediscovering myself and what makes me truly happy. My daughters of course are by far the top of my list. Writing is next, I absolutely love it! It’s been an amazing journey the past two years since I’ve picked up my pen.
