Life Support – Author Donna J. Sanders

The average tax payer

has been cleaved

blood siphoned into businesses

where profits are heaved

our organs on life support

one quarter per year

they laugh on their thrones

while our pockets are bare

our souls dehydrate

while debt drips intravenously

at what point in life

will our burdens be freed
