Such distance
Between heart and tongue.
Touch intention
And it disappears.
Thoughts that reside
Within hollow walls
Have no bones to hold them,
Only wishful thinking that
Twists them into the shapes
Of straw animals.
Blown away upon the wind
They become dancing reflections
Of what could have been.

I was born and grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. Eventually I escaped to Kansas where I met the love of my life with whom I’ve been with for 25 years. We currently reside in Overland Park with three cats, my neglected poetic children, and this raccoon puppet. All in all, it is a good life!
