Don Beukes

Creative Talents Unleashed is both thrilled and honored to announce the upcoming release of  The Salamander Chronicles by Author Don Beukes.

Mr. Don Beukes is a retired teacher of English and Geography. Originally from Cape Town in South Africa, he grew up in the shadow of Table Mountain, always aspiring to achieve the best in life, despite living in a racially divided country. He lives by his favorite motto ‘Carpe Diem’ and endeavors to seize every opportunity in life to make the most of each day. This also filters through to his poetry, attempting to adjust our moral compass in our ever-changing global village. He enjoys gardening and is a keen amateur photographer.

When I first met Don Beukes in 2015 via social media, we became fast friends because I could sense in him a deep appreciation for the art of poetry; and truly, for language in all its myriad forms of expression. Being multilingual, Beukes has an intuitive understanding of how the written word can cross all borders and boundaries to speak directly between souls, so whether he is using Afrikaans, French, or English, there is an open avenue of pure communication that pierces through in his verses.

Beukes’ poetry draws upon the challenges he faced while growing up in the racially divided country of South Africa; and he uses such experiences as a form of personal catharsis but also as a way to teach the lesson that all humans are in this game of life together.

In overcoming the challenges of his youth, Beukes serves as a firsthand example of how the human soul can rise up triumphantly to shine with purity and goodwill.

Stylistically, Beukes’ work is full of alliteration and lyricism, often taking on fast-paced rhythms that draw the reader into an easily digestible cadence. Beukes has emerged on the global scene over the past year with his words being published in venues across the world. Now, through this debut collection of poetry, his powerful message can extend its reach even further.

  2. I am very excited that Don’s genuine passion for poetry is finally being recognised.

Don has been one of my special friends for almost ten years now and throughout he has shown what a genuine person really is. So honest, selfless, reliable, highly intelligent and well informed. Don is goal orientated and always aspires for success.

I have no doubt that Don will go far in his career as what he writes and shares is all true and experienced in life, not fictitious. It’s his passion.

Looking forward to getting the first copy of his many publications to come.

Well done Don and thank you for sharing your passion.
