No strident noise my ears assault,
No harsh glare to hurt my eyes,
No chores to tax my weary bones,
No chattering adults, no children’s cries.
Daytime cares cease in midnight’s peace.
A late and lingering breeze, Soft and light.
My breathing calms
As I relax into the arms of the night.
A soul hiatus which welcomes me
Back to where I can just be.
Come join me
In this glorious rhapsody
Of twilight and no-light,
Where life is quiescent
And only the moon’s crescent
Keeps me company.
