Author Elizabeth Daniel: Mini Blessings

Since they said,

Her life is on the line,

No options,

Then oxygen came full time,

She got good at answering,

“I’m fine!”

Even though in the beginning,

She was shattered inside,

Staring through the glass,

All her fears seemed to pass,

As she stood standing still,

Despite odds,

Looking at her life’s will,

Blue eyes and a head full of hair,

Perfect fingers and toes,

Almost 10 years later,

Since they said,

Her life is on the line,

She’s steadily getting back to the woman she once was,

And that baby boy,

He’s now her mini me,

On the days when things seem bleak,

He says, “Sissy I love you!”

Unaware he saved me,

When I was weak.

About the Author

From a very young age, Elizabeth knew she was meant to be a writer. Around 8 or so, she started with little poems inside birthday cards. As years went by, poetry became her safe haven in a world full of chaos and beauty. Through written words, she found her voice. A voice according to doctors, she was never supposed to have. Today at 34, she still re- reads those poems from the early days. Now housed on her bookshelf in old binders.
