Curled, furled & budded spring tight,
Bursting damp & limp towards new light,
Springtime green, birthed from tender shoot,
Conceived from beneath God´s earth, from mother root.
Soft Summer´s wavings in exalting breeze,
Frocks of emerald & beryl in pretty dancing trees,
Cool breathy whisperings of summer´s darting shade,
There is no more intricate pattern, by God´s nature made.
Chattering & rustling as death´s end is nigh,
And in the shivering of cold morn, soft autumn´s sigh,
A gentle dying is heard, within the bronze voiced breath,
Shaken softly to earth, leaves tumble in a timely & tired death.
Leaf by leaf, born, danced & blown to waiting ground,
From vibrant, verdant greens, copper & on to crisp old brown,
Bare winter branches, sad in snow, ice & slow grey winter rain,
Until coming of next spring, when the buds of leaves are born again.
