Author Hannah Allen – Certain Things Unwanted

Garbage bags of gummy bear babies,

Dumpster cemetery,

Hidden down a dark alley,

Cats hungry,

Moaning for a meal,

No claim of owner,

Outside, left to wander,

Certain things are unwanted

Lingering in the city.

Here comes dirty dawn,

Air is fog from the hotel neon,

Humming a blank buzz,

Streetlamps give off a hot glow,

Upon a girl of the ghetto,

Someone wandering,

Astray, alone,

Certain ones are unwanted

Searching in the city.

About the Author

I grew up in a small town in Florida where I currently live. A pretty normal 90’s childhood. The youngest of three. A proud Aunt. A current college graduate figuring it all out. I’ve always enjoyed writing and songwriting. A big fan of 60’s Rock ‘n’ Roll helped guide me towards my love for poetry. I look forward to the many adventures ahead.
