Reflection of Peace – Author Damon E. Johnson

Sometimes, as I hold you next to me

it becomes so peaceful that I can hear my own heartbeat

The rhythm seems to move through my body

alerting me that there is an angel in my presence

Warm, yet so undeniably cool and comforting

Hair so soft and smells like a thousand violets in bloom

Skin so smooth it’s like butter flowing through your fingers

Eyes so shiny, they’re like two brand new pennies

fresh out of your grandfather’s pocket

Lips so full, they’re like two slices of an orange so juicy

you can barely wait even one minute to taste them

Body so enticing that you can’t help wanting to feel

the cozy wet waves of the ocean that lies inside

leaving the problems of this world behind

swimming blissfully in the solution of love

A journey I would gladly take again and again

but right now, I just want to hold you next to me
