  1. Wooden Idols

    Mouth gaping,
    Jaws of oak
    tower above lives
    A portal-
    into iridescent skies
    faith of the unknown
    an unsettling presence
    and the barefaced shadows
    of prayers left unsaid

  2. Frozen in air
    stopping the heart,
    wooden and mean
    what does it want?
    A death stare it seems
    gritted sharp teeth
    I fight to walk past
    its stare so aghast.
