Sitting atop my throne of glory
watching the world pass by like a story
yearning for the green, lush woods
waiting for the angels wearing hoods
to journey down and speak their words
of light and peace to the unsettled herds,
to the fish, to the mammals, to the windswept birds
wishing that the demons from deep down below
would leave me be and leave the shadows of the snow
to melt and usher in a new spring day
the sun shines through, there’s nothing left to say.
