The singer just finished his ballad. He stared out into the worshiping, wet eyes of his fans. He heard the squeals, and squalls, and shouts of “I LOVE YOU!”
So he said, “If you love me, put your hands together in the shape of a heart.” And of course, they did. He gazed about the arena, focusing on every single heart and the faces beneath them.
“Now,” he shouted in the microphone, “One of you, tell me what that last song was about.” He heard the record scratch sound in his mind as the silence fell over the arena, The faces became blank under the hearts.
“No one, no one knows what that song is about?” He then heard some shouts about break ups, and lost loves. He laughed to himself.
“You don’t know. You don’t know because you don’t listen to the lyrics, or try to understand them. You don’t know because your hearts and minds are as empty as the space inside your hands.”
He watched them all gasp, “Just a room full of empty hearts.” He said before throwing the mic down, and leaving the stage.
