Secret Service – Author Billy Chaeles Root

Shadow walkers

Humbled and true

Quiet talkers

With collars of blue

Unseen spinners

Of the wheel of life

Chosen fingers

Working day and night

From Faceless poets

To Unsung singers

From House less framers

To “bad neighborhood” teachers

From Bloody knuckled mechanics

Late night at the shop

To shelve Stockers day off

coming in to put up stock

From Arthritic bricklayers

To Car less pavers

From Underpaid cops

To the Common life savers

The Over the road hauler

And Pilots of mail overnight

Don’t forget high wire installers

And Airplane technicians

readying for flight

The Nursing home aides

And unnoticed hotel maids

The Pastors in prayer

For the needs we all share

An Unseen organism

Underpaid at best

The Overworked lower middle class

That run on little to no rest

From the single mom

Of two to three jobs

Who brings you your morning coffee

And cleans up after tip less slobs

To the minimum wage collage kid

Doing all they can do

With two or more jobs too

Just To put themselves through school

The training wheels of the world’s economy

Ride on the backs of such

But let us not forget those whose jobs

require so much

From the bullet catchers

and their long sleepless nights

To the field medic Heroes

who save life’s by flash or candle light

From the scout who goes ahead

Looking for evil in disguise

To the front line holders of the line front

And their families anxious sighs

From the ones POW and MIA

To the long forgotten

who freed the way

No CEO’s

No millionaires

No reality shows

Or stock shares

Just a greasy elbows

And get it done

That’s just how we roll.
