Choices – Author Tamsen Grace

I dream of the severed heads,

of those who raped my soul.

Life ravages,

cuts the jugular of hope.

leaving bones to bleach

in the sun

or to be buried in darkness.

Freedom comes,

when all is lost.

Swept clean,

ashes blown away in the wind.

Choices,

those who long

for love’s kiss,

or death’s.

Stagnant pool,

offers slow decay,

as long as no ripples

mar the surface.

Or to face the torrent

of rapids,

the tumult of

rushing water,

beating the

rough edges smooth

against the rocks.

Satin touch,

fingertips caress,

cool smoothness,

pressed against your lips,

love’s first kiss.
