About the Author
Creative Talents Unleashed is both thrilled and honored to announce the upcoming release of Hope Berween Heartbeats.
Liz Newman is a professional blogger and a poet from the Midwest. She has always found comfort in the written word, dating back to her middle school days where she would jot quotes and song lyrics in the margins of her agenda book. She loves to read and almost always has a book in her hand. Her other great loves include her husband, family, fitness, and her fur babies.
Book Description: As gentle as a summer rain, Liz Newman writes with a mellifluous style, reminiscent of the classical poets. There is a gentle, soothing syntax in her words, a lovely treasure trove of poetic compositions.
The author addresses the very elements of life, crafting a book into sections which form the cornerstones of human experiences; Life, Love, Loss, and Learning. Each section is skillfully comprised of words that touch the soul.
“Your body is failing you, but so am I, because I don’t know how to save you,” is a heart-wrenching stanza from the poem, ‘Mutiny on Immunity.’ For the reader, the feeling of the helplessness and impending loss is permeable and real.
Throughout this beautiful book, there are hidden jewels which cause you to revisit the poems again and again. The author suggests that the poems herein can also be read randomly. I especially enjoyed that this book can be appreciated, regardless of where one chooses to read; each piece stands on their own merit.
A debut for this author, Liz Newman has created a beautiful collection, a joy for readers who love a classically written compilation. Well done!

Preface . . .
I have always found comfort in the written word. Whether it was lyrics to a song, poems, or books, I could make a connection with a writer or artist from another time. It would make me feel like someone finally understood me and that I was going to be okay, no matter what I was going through.
When I just couldn’t find the right words to say, I would look to the work of authors and poets. The good times and the bad were so beautifully described by strangers with hearts that beat and broke in the same way mine did. And, it was from this love for words that I found my own voice.
I started writing my heart onto blank pages, in hopes that someone, somewhere might find the same comfort or strength in my writing that I have so often found in the works of others.
This poetry book is divided into four different categories: life, love, loss, and learning.
Some poems are more personal than others, but all of them are bound by the same universal feelings and struggles that we all experience. They do not necessarily have to be read in the order that they have been organized into here. Some may find that they need the poems in certain sections more than others.
Whether you are falling in love for the first time or finding your way after a major heartbreak, there is something for you here. Because our pain is our common ground. So, I have spilled some of mine onto these pages in hopes that you might feel a little less alone when you’ve finished reading this collection.
