Distance Hurts – Author Daryl P. Hall

Don’t let distance be a barrier

To the thoughts and dreams we share,

Though oceans separate us,

I know you’re always there.

I see you in precious violets

That look gorgeous in full bloom,

But their beauty pales against you,

Your smile could light up any room.

I just want to let you know –

That you are not alone,

Lay your heart alongside mine.

I will always be your home –

That one place of security,

Where you feel so safe and warm,

And have that calm and safe assurance

You’ll find shelter from the storm.

I feel two hearts connected,

I feel two souls entwined.

I feel two bodies longing,

To put heartaches past behind

And walk together on the beach

Where the ocean meets the shore.

And hear the gentle breaking of the waves –

No, we couldn’t wish for more.

Don’t let distance be a barrier

To the thoughts and dreams we share,

Though oceans separate us,

I know you’re always there.
