Step In – Author Nolan P. Holloway, Jr.

Been walking for a time

Passed some along the way

Stopped and had some interesting chats

About self, life and other things

Moved on after awhile

Skipped some steps but moved one foot in front of the other

Now a person is moving in step with me

Synchronized and harmonic

Working to keep to the path of one

Distracting voices to make us miss-step

Messing with the sequence of completing this part of the journey

So keep stepping and don’t tarry for too long

Folks want you to carry their burdens and them

While their feet stay clean from the dirt of life’s road

Using you up to be discarded when no longer useful

Stepping all over you without regard

Will you allow this?

Or a choice to allow one to help when you stumble

Speak words to move you forward everyday

If you look to mankind for motivation

You just might end up walking alone
