‘Tag line artist,’ inspired by inky moonlight
creates a canvas of cement or moving boxcars
Slivering light in passing cars, flicking his Bic,
illuminated work, cryptic figures, liquid letters
silently makes a statements, unveiled at dawn

Notoriety never comes, not from strangers,
who read the words they long to say, spraying
Cizannesque of primary color, losing their beauty
after 10,000 miles of dirt, 325 days of grime, faded
and frameless, no elegant lighting, no champagne
toasting in accolades of astonishment or praise

‘Tag line artist,” forfeits fame for freedom and
anonymity, his only artist tool, spray-paint, spawn
of imagination or seething anger, his statements
interchangeable with the next moonlight artist,
to be the squatter on his canvas of darkness
