Walking with the Dead ~ Author Elizabeth Diane Daniel

Numbers are rising

It’s a growing epidemic

Grab your vaccine

Pick a vein

You can see it in their eyes

The living is dead

Lost the fire inside

Misdirected souls

Hungry to belong

So hungry

Forget the nutrition labels

They’ll sit at any table

If it looks suitable

Fed false teachings

Hungry to belong

They’ll eat off any plate

Follow false teachers

If the message sounds appealing

Doesn’t matter the taste

Pale arms reaching

Misguided souls

Searching for guidance

You can hear it in their voices

A cry for help

Numbers are rising

It’s a growing epidemic

You can see it in their eyes

And no matter the cost

Cut costs

Giveth and taketh healthcare away

Insurance has assured

We’ll rest easy in peace.

About the Author

From a very young age, Elizabeth knew she was meant to be a writer. Around 8 or so, she started with little poems inside birthday cards. As years went by, poetry became her safe haven in a world full of chaos and beauty. Through written words, she found her voice. A voice according to doctors, she was never supposed to have. Today at 34, she still re- reads those poems from the early days. Now housed on her bookshelf in old binders.
