He Holds The Key To Life – Author Joanna Maharis

He holds the key to life.

In times of despair, dance.

Celebrate sunlight

seducing soulful waters

singing hymns of praise.

In the howling night,

his music plays in my ears,

and I hum along.

He’s ready to attack.

She comes with open arms

on the wings of glory.

His fire singed her heart,

but she cannot let go

of his hold on her soul.

Time gathers around me.

I count silky teardrops

falling from sunken eyes,

forever burned by you.

In times of duress,

I count the waves of the heart

I followed blindly.

Bitterness shall end

all rhythms of fire,

dying all alone.
