Writer Highlight Featuring: Jackie Chou

is ticking, so is youth
It pulls me forward
like the second hand
without blinking an eye

It passes like a train
that won’t stop for anyone
rich or poor
commoner or queen

It seems like yesterday
I rollerbladed on the pier
with my clique
vying for popularity

Then now, all of a sudden
I am past forty
my adolescent dreams
broken, differed, detoured

Time does not stop for me
It is only measured
by the lines
forming on my face
