Me and Him – Author A.M. Torres

Moods of a baby
Who lacked fifty words.
His babble complete
There is something wrong.
He fails to point
He’ll lead you instead
Don’t know what it is;
I’m forced to guess.
He screams so it hurts
He tends to melt down
I love him so much
I’m driven to fear.
Autism spectrum
There’s much I don’t know
I don’t understand
So little there is.
Driven to tears
Loneliness here
They don’t understand
It’s just me and him.

Manic and sad
With no spoken words
Anxiety yes

It’s just me and him.

  1. I have only dealt with the Autism spectrum briefly in some of my Early Childhood/School Readiness/After School programs, but it really opened my eyes. I hope in the future we will be able to lean more about Autism and what we can do to make everyone feel included. Thank you very much for sharing and God bless you and your family!
