Sprout ~ Author Donna J. Sanders

Buried I was

under decaying cinders

stifled

comatose

in darkness

emotions entangled

between unstable roots

All I needed

was the right nourishment

to feed this broken soul

breaking me

free from a choleric cocoon

A glimpse of light

I reached for

the radiance fueled my veins

until the real me

sprouted

That moment

I saw beauty

in my shadow
