In The Comfort Of Your Presence

(In Memory Of All Those Who Passed Away)

Your memories shall live on,

even for those of you who remain

unmourned, unmarked, unknown

In the distant heavens you gaze

at the world, and recall

the love and joy of your days.

We ask what that which lies

on the other side, where spirits

roam, soar, free as the eagles,

beyond heights of infinite skies

You wanted to come here

and tell us the things

that we wanted to know,

for things we longed to hear

We have always wanted to seize

the universe and her mysteries,

to touch the end of infinity,

but, then, maybe,

we are not ready,

perhaps our mortal eyes

are too blind to see

Or, could it be

that you just want us to feel

that death is not real,

and that you are always here

because you never left.
