Oh how I wish I could tire and sleep
Nothing left to do but cry and weep
Oh how the sap of memories seep
from my mind and life,
I’ve experienced joy, anger, but above all strife
I wish for today I could just close the gates of sleep and forget about it all
how I wish for that silk laden fall
The good, the evil, the forces of this place
I want no more of it thrust into my face
I wish only neutrality on this cold December day
While I sit and ponder in my whimsical lonely way
Sleep will come in time, like all good things
I will enter the dream world on pearl flightless wings
For now I will entertain the most irrational
of thoughts in my bed
While I lay here and rest
my world weary head.
