PAST LIVES

Marching boots upon unspoken graves,

As Censor taunts intrinsic states

Fleeing the dusk fear panic

To covet are ready many facade-.

Fallen past through people driven hosts,

Who file mechanical figure holes

Coffee Coffin breaks bewildered illusion

Of empty cubic selves lying deception

For hubris stance feeds apathy

In the living struggle pride

For the whole man’s passage walks

With dust and flakes by eye’s of a stranger

Poetry has to be a little evasive. Like it’s running away from you. It’s alive and breathing. Yeah, that’s it. Poetry must evolve. Like any art it also must be elusive, even from yourself. Or what’s the point. Your not writing a novel or a story. Your writing about a feeling. An emotion. And we can never pinpoint where or how they got there. However, poetry can lead you to those dark corners where admittance is exclusive. The metaphor being Alice’s rabbit hole. Poems must have multiple pathway
