I was having a horrible day. I overslept, the shower head busted and flew off to strike me between the eyes, leaving a bruise. Worst of all that morning, I had no coffee.
That may not sound that bad, but it is. Needless to say I was late to work. So I had to hear crap from my boss. I wasn’t in the mood, so I not so politely told him I’m hardly ever late. “To which he replied, once is too much for me.”
I went across the street at lunchtime to a sandwich shop. Everything looked way too expensive. So I told the sweet fuzzy headed old lady whom was waiting for an order that I would just have coffee. Her face fell as she asked,
“Nah,” I said, “I’ll wait till I get home.”
“Why not just at least have a half sandwich?” She said.I mulled it over. “Okay. Half bologna sandwich.”
“Good,” she said. “Always be good to yourself, because not everyone is always going to be good to you.”
I nodded and from that day forward I would always agree.
