A Dance with the Queen – Author Billy Charles Root

We danced in the kitchen to the sound of no music

I sang with my heart to the moves

We spun and dipped like we were on stage

It was unprofessional at best but we had nothing to prove

Her giggles and laughter filled my ears along with my humming of a song

Spinning to the left and to the right

Then a dip and a kiss on her cheek

She was the queen and I was just her poppa

But that was ok with me

Giggling and humming spinning and dancing

We even bumped our heads on the pans

And though it had to end I promised we’d dance again

May I never pass up the chance.
