I was society trained
To restrain and refrain
From pursuing anything
That goes against the grain
Of the consensus preordained
And long since maintained,
Before my little brain
Even became a being.
Somehow, I escaped
From the mask and the cape
That disguises the mental state
Of a society bound and raped
With the belief that it’s just great,
Never realizing that it’s fake,
And the consequence it takes,
Smothering love with blinded hate.
