  1. A FELINE AFFAIR

    More grey than white
    she was,sensuously stirring,
    if otherwise
    sleeping or pretending
    to sleep,what attracted
    her to peep
    through the glass
    then back down

    and pass
    to the side
    to laze as if
    in a drunken daze
    daily visit
    a long quiet look
    then off to the nook,
    satisfied with one
    deep open eyed
    glance,set her
in the love trance,no desire to roll
    or prance
    contentment replete
    in form and fur
    silent breath
    silent purr
    guarding the door
    on barren floor
    profound faith
    defying death_
    my love have seen
    no desire for more
    to heaven I’ve been

  2. A Symbol of Beauty

    You feign distain
    as I flutter by
    all eyes on me

    Envy eats you
    poisons your heart
    like a tarantula

    I have once been
    a caterpillar
    this is something new

    It is hard for me
    to look behind my back
    when I fly in midair

    You try to pick me
    from the sky
    smash me in your palm

    But I’m too far
    above you
    for you to reach

    My sparkles
    spill from my wings
    into a million pieces

    Build a stairway
    to the moon
    one brick at a time

    Then gaze down
    and see me
    a mere insect!
