Thoughts to Jot Down Before they Fade by Nolan P. Holloway, Jr.

Tossed between kindness and anger

Confused thoughts of the past are present

Clueless because of moments forgotten

Rooted in the pain of failures and the need to release

But holding on so tightly the thoughts become reality

Frustration mounts as the realities conflict

She remembers me but is losing to the false beliefs in her head

That which is unknown triggers lead to sorrow and tears

I yearn to have the mother of my youth

She prayed when others had given up on me

Encouraged me through difficult times

But now I cannot soothe her mind when thoughts of abandonment and loneliness whispers despair to her ears

Lord, I will continue to pray for understanding of how to deal with this thing that is robbing us of who she was and what she is becoming

Sorrow may be this evening but joy comes in the morning
