Warrior on Fire by Tracy Seiden

She fell hands down on the ground, head hung low. Her hair swept across her face in a tangle of sweat and despair. For a moment she forgot, for a moment the only sound she heard was of her heartbeat pounding slow but steady.

Silence surrounded her, empty yet somehow taunting, a great yawning beast awakening to take her whole and screaming from this broken place if she didn’t get up and keep moving.

And so she remembered she was built from the flames, dug down and found that flame in the rubble of her past and stood up a warrior on fire.

No more to be broken by fears of the unknown, no more to be knocked down by her own thoughts.

She stood up a warrior of fire and took her world back by storm.
