My Children by Anne D. Salyer

Children of my folly,

I leave you to your musings.

No one can hold you

Within their arms.

But love is not lost!

Fly away on silent wings

To a place I cannot dream.

You are all precious

But please remember

A mother’s love

Is as fleeting as her charms.

Anne D. Salyer

I was born and grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. Eventually I escaped to Kansas where I met the love of my life with whom I’ve been with for 25 years. We currently reside in Overland Park with three cats, my neglected poetic children, and this raccoon puppet. All in all, it is a good life!
