I am washed away by the
ocean’s tears whose tides
build up and send me crashing
into your shoreline.
I unfold my heart until it bleeds
out for lost treasures stored
up in my mind bringing
about the longing of summer
on a cold winter’s night.
Sanguine is the music flowing
in streams of my timeless visions
when your parade gathers crowds
of onlookers watching me sink
deeper and deeper in my stipend grave.
Shouting is the wind in my ears with
its heart full of rage for the hours of
foul striking its pulse.
Tender is the red rose whose velvet
flesh soothes the burn which followed.
I’m encumbered by the music of my time,
and let the past fade into me like the
dust in the wind.
For this is the musicality life brings
forth when the lion is close to death.
In his whirlwind, the storm clears,
leaving nothing but destruction.
The everlasting moonlight is encroached by
your whims hovering the earth,
but all eyes are watching from just beyond
their graves holding out their hands to lift
me out of the rut my heart is drowning in.
