Time skims by as,
we try to hold on in this emotional
tidal wave that is life
We yearn to become masters of the moment
but we fall back and forth in the force
of the waves of past and future
The impermanence of it all
is symbolic of our short lives
and speaks to the soul within saying
“Don’t worry, you’re only a drop of water in this ocean”
We strive for self-importance,
by gathering material objects
but we only weigh ourselves down
Time is of the essence…
Time is our only judge;
What we once thought was important,
Fades away into the distant recesses of our memories
and we are left with a feeling known only as hollowness.
