Come look into my eyes
Tell me what you see
Do you see my tears or my fears?
Do you see my hurt of the passing years?
Do you see my flaws?
Can you tell I’m screaming?
Or do you see me dreaming?
I dare you
Look into my eyes and peer
Into my soul
Tell me what you see
Am I broken or am I whole?
I’ll tell you what I see
When these eyes look back at me
I see a spirit that is wild and free
I see a shell of the former me
I see a dream that shattered
Leaving nothing but tatters
But what I see doesn’t matter to me
In my eyes I see a dreamer
Do you?
Take another look
Look deeper
