Remembrance by Damon E. Johnson

When my eyes reject daylight

and my spirit grows faint,

when my heartbeat fades into silence

and I have taken my last breath,

when my body falls limp

and my blood runs cold,

when life is but a memory

and words are reduced to tears:

remember, I loved you until death.
