Through Weary Eyes by Nolan P. Holloway, Jr.

Life clouds preparing to rain sadness

Sky shifting from blue to grey

Contemplating a myriad of experiences

Holding back the tears-I fail

Freely they flow, uncontrollable

Flooding, washing over me-sobbing won’t stop

Don’t want to cry

But it releases something deep and buried

Guilt, hurt, disappointment pulled from my soul

Even with the existence of God, I cry

Stay with me happiness-I need your soothing touch

Struggling with myself-at this moment losing

Want to live-but the pain is deafening

Can’t hear my thinking-knowledge is known

But feelings can dominate and infect

Is there something I can take to ease this?

Or is it a chronic affliction to be lived with from time to time

Though the blurriness-a clearing

Mind opens to a sunshine and a place where tears of pain

Are evaporated into His Love
