Grafted by Donna J. Sanders

Once bashful

I hung my head

like a weeping apricot’s bloom

Until you grafted my veins

with a tiger lily’s rage

in such passionate ways

My blossoms

opened in flames

with a spritz

of sweet exotic perfume
