The Longing by Markus Fleischmann

I long to be touched

Gently on my flesh

Like winter’s kiss

Crisp and fresh

I yearn to be held

In a warm embrace

Like summer’s warmth

That shines upon my face

I beckon to be seen

Like autumn’s golden dream

Let go of inner rage

Enjoy my time of change

Storm blown days long passed

Silence took its place

In my soul a somber lull

Voices sing instead of yell

Shadows dance on my mind’s wall

Marionettes with a tale to tell

Frightening visions become as fog

Twisted thoughts no more a bog

Clarity and serenity invaded me

Brighter days my orbit eyes do see

My soul no longer a tempest sea

Regret and fears became smoke in wind

Drifting thin as does my sin

I’m a sword

Blade, pommel and hilt

Cut away my torturing guilt

I am wolf set free to be

I roam my life

The way I was meant to be
