Thalassic World by Donna J. Sanders

There must have been

a tear in time

where I slipped into a false oblivion

for the fantasies in my head

are not parallel with

the ways of this world

I’d rather be in places

where ethereal skies

have been punctured

with delicate fingers

and where waters fall

in lethargic wisps

I dream of a thalassic world

with emerald sands

and where nature’s kaleidoscope

is not drowned by the voices of

achromatic existence

The only time

I feel I belong

is when I sleep
