I’ve come this far and now, here I stand
At the edge of freedom and yet, in foreign
land
Within my mind commences, self-interrogation
To weed out the what if weight of trepidation
Freedom is just over there, take it, it’s yours
Why do I just stand here, what am I waiting for
Take a step or a leap, just walk out into faith
Oh but what if this courage is not real, what if it is fake
And here I stand at the edge, violently shaking about
Probably over thinking this and drowning in self-doubt
Griping ropes and dragging feet, heavy is my woe
First plank step and my heart goes calm, I will peruse this foe
Confident stride, hand over hand, step by step I close
Freedom side in the center of my eye, I ditch trepidation for hope
Upon the rock I lay my soul, salvation the reward
Not alone, an extended hand, always presently pulling me forward
